Canada "performs exceptionally well in measures of well-being." Some 72 per cent of people aged 15 to 64 have paid jobs, compared with 73 per cent for Australia and the OECD average of 66 per cent. Net disposable income of US$28,194 is about US$5,000 higher than average.
Canada does well in terms of health, education, and environmental conditions such as air and water quality. There is also a strong sense of community.
In general; Canadians are more satisfied with their lives than the OECD average, with 82 per cent of people saying they have more positive experiences in an average day [feelings of rest, pride in accomplishment, enjoyment, etc] than negative ones [pain, worry, sadness, boredom, etc]. This figure is higher than the OECD average of 80 per cent."
